Gift Guide for the 40-ish Woman

Gift Guide for the 40-ish Woman

Since I am a 40-ish woman I feel myself highly qualified to create this list. 😉 Here are some things I enjoy on a daily basis. Feel free to share this list with anyone who might need some shopping help.

📚Kindle – I use the Kindle Oasis and I love it! I can read eBooks on it that I’ve purchased from Amazon and you can also use the Libby app on your phone to send free library books to the Kindle. While the Oasis is pricy, it has a touchscreen and buttons to turn the page, is waterproof, has zero glare and is easy on my old lady eyes. 🤓 A cheaper option, the Kindle Paperwhite is just as great as the Oasis if you can live without buttons for page turning. And the Paperwhite is a little smaller.

❄️Space heater – Being cold is no fun but cold feet are the worst. I keep this guy under my desk and turn it on when it’s chilly.

🛌Fuzzy blanket – You can never have too many blankets!

👟Hoka tennis shoes – These shoes are amazing! They hold up at Walt Disney World. Enough said.

💦Stanley 40oz cup – These were all the rage last Christmas and they’re still super popular. I love mine and use it every day.

🎧Apple AirPod Pros – Mine finally bit the dust after 3 years of daily use and I miss them so much! These are comfortable, have adjustable tips, are noise canceling and just work great with your iPhone. Perfect for moms who exercise, travel or just enjoy listening to music.

🪮Beachwaver curling iron – I’m terrible with hair but this guy helps me curl my hair and it stays. It’s truly a miracle worker. 😂 You clip the hair in place and press the button and the work is done for you. Super easy and easy on your wrists.

☕️Reusable Kcup filters – I’ve used these for a while and LOVE them. Perfect for the Keurig fan who hates the plastic waste of typical Kcups and likes to use their own coffee grounds.

✨ Magical Monday

✨ Magical Monday

Each Monday I want share with y’all things that are adding some magic to my life. It could be an app, a Target find, a book, a podcast, etc. Maybe you’ll find something that will add some magic to your life as well. 🙂

– My Bottled Joy water bottle. I love this thing! This was an Amazon find recommended by my sister in law. Each morning, I can fill this cute guy up and watch as my water intake goes up during the day. On days that I finish the whole thing, I’ve met my goal. This bottle is durable and easy to take care of. They come in different sizes and colors!

The Cursebreakers Series by Brigid Kemmerer. Technically I started this series back in November but the final book in the trilogy came out last week. Guys, it’s so good! It’s a retelling of Beauty and the Beast but it goes further than that. What happens after they find their Happily Ever After? And how and why did the curse happen in the first place? So good!!

Book of the Month I’ve talked here on the blog before about this great subscription service but I’m still loving it! When the world shut down last March, reading became my escape. I read so many books last year and continue to read at a pretty fast rate. With BOTM I get to choose the book I want each month – they’re all great options and a great deal at $14.99. If I want more books, I can get those for $9.99 each. Seriously a great deal for a hardback new release! If I don’t like the options that month, I can skip, no big deal. When I don’t feel super comfortable getting out in public to shop, I love knowing a great, new book is heading my way each month.

“So Will I” This song!! I’m so in love with it right now and it’s on repeat as I get ready in the mornings and I’m sure my family is sick of me humming it constantly. 😉 I love when God puts a song in our lives at just the right time.

Is there anything that’s making your day magical right now? Let me know in the comments!

Happy October!

Happy October!

One of my favorite spots in my house – a seasonal decor item, a favorite quote, Alexa playing music and some wax melts making the house smell good.

I love the start of a new month, don’t you? It feels like a chance to start over again – set new goals, try old goals again, make plans, and look forward. October is one of my favorite months! The weather is usually pretty great here in Alabama – if we’re lucky we’ll have cool mornings and warm afternoons. The leaves are changing and I have a great excuse to turn on the fireplace and snuggle with my blanket, puppies and a good book.

Wishing you a happy October!

Hi there!

Hi there!

Hello there! After years of being away from blogging, I’m back. Does anyone read blogs anymore? Guess I’m about to find out.

Welcome to my little space on the internet. My name is Jenney. I live in Alabama with my husband, two boys and two fur babies. I’m a Christian, travel agent, avid reader, photographer and waster of time on games and Netflix.

Here, you’ll find book reviews, travel info {especially if it’s Walt Disney World related}, photographs and my general musings on life {or whatever happens to be running through my mind.}. Welcome! Hope you settle in to read and chat. =)
